Emily Dowdy '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'3 catcher/1st/3rd basemen from Nederland, Texas. I have been dedicated to playing softball since I was 6 years old. Being on the field has taught me to push through adversity in my life. When I think I can’t go anymore, my team is there to show me I have something to fight for,  my teammates and I always boost each other.  Being in sports has taught me to be the best me. It has taught me that you will make mistakes but not to let them over come you.

I would like a college that will support me academically. Grades are a high importance to me so, I would like a college that challenges me on and off of the field. The medical field interest me and I would like to be a Physical Therapist. I am enrolled in Pre-Ap classes as well as other extracurricular programs. Finances will play a large roll in what college I attend. I will stay close to home or travel far for the school that I can be an asset for and that offers my course of study.
