To whom this may concern,
Hello, my name is Maggie Zhu and I am in the graduating class of 2024. I intend to pursue both basketball and fine arts at a post-secondary institute. I have always loved the game of basketball ever since I could remember. I am always striving to improve and push myself to be the best I can be, on and off the court.
During the 2021-2022 school season, I played the 3 and 4 positions and occasionally 5. You might be wondering why someone that is 5’6 would ever be playing in the 5. My school had an average height team which required some of us to embrace the 5 position at a disadvantage. Although I have been at a height disadvantage, playing against players that were way taller than me has taught me to be tough while also helping me work on my moves inside the paint. Playing the 5 was challenging for me but I found it as a way to motivate and push myself even harder to do and accomplish even more during the season. The biggest influences in my life are my coaches, parents, and the teachers who have helped me get to where I am today. I am thankful for the coaches who believed in me even when I did not believe in my capabilities, and the coaches (Thank you Deion) who spent countless hours and nights helping me perfect my skill in the game.
My goal is to graduate high school and pursue a bachelors in Fine Arts while playing basketball at the college level. As someone who is a first-generation immigrant, education is one of my top priorities, finding a school that can both support me academically and help me continue to nurture my love for the game.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
