My name is Amrit Khinda. I am in the graduating class of 2021. I go to James Monroe High School, which is located in North Hills, California. Entering high school as a freshman who knew no one attending that school was pretty difficult and challenging, but basketball helped me push through. My goal for high school is to graduate with a 4.0 and be the MVP for my varsity team. Currently, I have a 3.8 GPA. I am part of basketball, three clubs, four AP classes, and JROTC. Over the years, I have learned how to juggle my academics and extracurriculars. In 9th grade, I maintained a 4.0, was a shooting guard, shot the most 3 pointers out of all the girls in basketball, and was the MVP. In 10th grade, I auditioned to be the point guard for JV, which was scary for me because my dribbling wasn't the best. I worked hard, carried my team, and was the MVP. In 11th grade, I was the point guard, co-captain of JV, and one of the starting five. I was bumped up for a couple of the varsity games and played in the Championships. Throughout my high school basketball experience, I have worked hard to become who I am now because basketball isn't just a school activity for me. It is a passion that has inspired me. It shapes me and has become a part of my DNA. There has never been a day I have gotten sick of dribbling a ball and never will be. I am working hard to pursue my dream of playing college basketball and making it a reality.
