Being raised by successful parents that believe in being the best version of you no matter what it is, to do whatever it is that brings you joy in life, has been very influential in my life. This has been the very reason why I continue to play the game I love…Basketball. I started playing co-ed basketball for my church at the young age of 5, I realized then that this was a part of my life that I had to have. I met my BFF on this team and we’ve been playing ever since. I’ve also met other good friends that I have stayed connected with so basketball has helped me build long-lasting relationships with great people. I have learned so much from this sport. Most importantly is humility…I once scored 58 points in a game as an 8th grader on a Varsity Team but soon realized that meant nothing when I was faced with real competition. Being able to adjust to different coaching styles, adjust to different dynamics on teams and still finding the joy in basketball.
Some challenges that I was faced with during my basketball career, I went from being the best player and MVP to being pushed down the line because of other amazing talent that joined the team, however, I embraced it positively and used that as an opportunity to play my specific role on the team so that we can win. Not only has talent gotten us 2-State Championship Titles, but our teamwork & collaboration, our chemistry, and the positive energy we have on the team has definitely helped as well…we are a Sisterhood!
My goals are to graduate with a 3.5+ GPA and be the best Scholar Athlete I can be. I am looking to further my basketball career on a collegiate level with a team that believes in academic and athletic success. I believe I possess the skills required to be a leader and a team player on & off the court to represent the team. I possess natural basketball intel/knowledge and I have a nice Jump shot!
