My name is Julien Parado, class of 23’ from Ewa Beach, Hawaii playing at James Campbell High School. I started playing basketball 7 years ago when I joined an all-boys team, Westside shockers, where I played club through my elementary and middle school years. It wasn't until late middle school that I started playing with girls and branched out to teams like Roundball, Westside, Imua, and HiArq. In high school, I played varsity basketball since freshman year and excelled on the court as a leader and a teammate. This past season, I was able to lead our team to take OIA D1 Champs which was the first ever for Campbell Highschool. In addition, I was also nominated OIA D1 West Player of the year and ranked top 9 in the State of Hawaii. Gamewise, I am a playmaker for my teammates while being able to create my own shot and finish well around the rim or 3-point line. I am also a versatile player with a high IQ, who can handle pressure and stay under control in close games. Defensively, I can be an asset by guarding 1-4, rebounding, and blocking shots with the help of my long arm reach and anticipation. In the classroom, I have maintained a 4.1 GPA while taking AP and Early College classes from Leeward Community college/UH Manoa. As well as being involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, and Leo Club. This year, I am also taking a Medical Assisting Program where I will be able to get a certification as a Medical Assistant when I graduate high school.
