Personal Statement
Since I was a young girl, I dreamed of playing basketball at the collegiate level. Playing club ball since middle school prepared me and helped me earn my starting position as a freshman at the varsity level. I believe that I am a good candidate for college basketball because I am willing to work hard to reach my goals. I've set our school's single season and career records in assists and recorded my 500th rebound part way through my junior year. Coming from a small school, I am a versatile four-sport athlete and am proud to say I earned all-conference honors in each one as a sophomore and qualified for the state Cross Country meet as a junior. I think that my physical training sets me apart from other recruits. Without relying solely on practice sessions, I am involved in a rigorous cardio and strength training program, which I do on my own very early every morning. Importantly, I work just as hard at being an exceptional human being as I do in athletics. I am involved in many things like student council, National Honor Society, and our church youth group outside of athletics and academics. Being involved in extracurricular activities does not stop me from doing well in school, as I am on the honor roll. I believe I have earned respect from people in the community, coaches, and teachers who would be the best judge of my character.
