Olivia Montague '15 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball on local top elite women's AAU teams (Cedar Rapids Panthers, and Team Iowa) since I was 7 years old. Since I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play college basketball. I am confident I can play at the division II level and help a team be successful over my 4 year career. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. I have two siblings a brother and sister presently competing in college at the division II level in basketball and track & field.

I have strong ball handling skills, soft hands, and a high basketball IQ. I am a team leader and lead by example while also encouraging my teammates to achieve their highest potential. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find. I have a strong mental attitude and have led my team mates to achieve their person best when the game victory is on the line. 

In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer at local youth basketball camps conducted by my high school and am currently a member of my high school student community volunteer groups.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.

I would like to follow my brother's path earning a college basketball scholarship. I also want to make a difference in my future career by helping people in my community.
