My name is Ian Guzman, and I’m a freshman student-athlete at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School with a 3.8 GPA. I take my academics seriously and hold myself to a high standard both in the classroom and on the court.
Basketball is more than a game to me—it’s where I push my limits and set the tone with my work ethic. I’m the first one in the gym and the last one to leave. I thrive on hustle plays, take pride in my defense, and consistently fight for 50/50 balls. I love being the guy who brings energy, intensity, and grit every time I step on the floor.
What separates me is my mindset: I hate to lose more than I love to win. I bring leadership through effort, encouragement, and a team-first attitude. I’m constantly pushing myself and my teammates to get better. I pride myself on being coachable, competitive, and committed to doing the little things that lead to winning.
Off the court, I give back to my community through organizations like Clean Ocean Action and Earth Clean-Up events. I value responsibility and doing my part to make a difference.
I’m still deciding on a major, but I know I’m looking for a college that will challenge me academically and help me grow as a student-athlete. I want to be part of a program that values hard work, discipline, and team culture.
