Personal Statement

Dear coaches,

I am striving to play university/college woman's golf in a competitive atmosphere. I am seeking a roster spot on a team that is competitive within and drives each other to be better both on and off the course. I enjoy practicing and improving my game as well as improving my fitness to help me play better golf. I typically take a leadership role; first to arrive and last to leave but also I am my teammates biggest cheerleader.

My golf goals are:

  1. Get ranked in the top 100 nationally.
  2. Win the Canadian Women's national championship.
  3. Play in the Augusta women's Amateur.
  4. Play in an LPGA tour event.

Some swing stats I should mention:

    • 100+ MPH swing speed, driver carry is 238 yards.
    •      Average 68% fairways hit (2025)
    • Full shot long iron and fairway wood game is good
    •      Average 11 GIR (2025)
    • Short game
    •      chipping is good but can always be better
      •      75 yards and in, average and improving but being worked on daily.
    • Putting
    •      inside 20' is excellent.
    •      Lag putting is average but being worked on daily.
    •      Averaging 31 PPR (2025)
    •      Average 3/4 birdies per round and did made 6 birdies in one round at the BC women's open and 6 birdies and an eagle this season in another Jr.           tournament round with a final nine holes of 31.

My educational and career goals are:

  • Degree in business with an accounting background or Nursing.
  • Play competitively as long as I can striving towards my goals.
  • After concluding my playing career I see myself working in the golf industry as a General Manager of a private golf club and teaching/coaching up and coming juniors or coaching a university golf team. Or working in firefighting and nursing.

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile and I will keep my tournament results updated for your review in my profile an I especially look forward to speaking with you about the opportunity of joining your school and women’s golf team.

Sincerely,

Ellie Johnson
