I never thought in my young age I would catch a "bug", that bug turned out to be golf. At the beginning of the pandemic I picked up a club and never looked back. I took on the sport of competitive golfing which gave me an escape from the world. The sport gave me an opportunity to relieve stress, spend time with my family, stay physically active, and find my own happy place. My name is Gaby Becker and I am a sophmore who currently attends Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ. Besides having golf as my passion I work very hard to make a difference in the world. I volunteer for various clubs at school and spend my weekends helping at a Special Needs camp. One of my proudest moments was receiving an acceptance letter from my school's International Studies and Business Program.
What makes me different from anyone else is my passion for everything that I do. I put 150% of my effort into academics, golf, and making an impact on society. While I am only a freshman I already understand the sacrifices of a college athlete. Juggling academics and sports is not an easy task, but I am up for that challenge.
