My name is Kailei Minter and I'm a 2023 senior at Magna Vista High School in Virginia.
My golf career started when I could barely stand. With my dad being a former golfer throughout both high school and college, and eventually coach, the sport has always been in my life. Growing up, I spent many days at our local courses watching my dad play. I would always imagine that one day I might have the chance to be as good as him. This is where my passion for the sport started.
Once I turned 10, I was able to play more often and start to play in a few tournament-style matches. I would say that my career started here. Those events taught me the sport, inside and out. From then to now I have been playing competitively, mostly through school events. I have been a member of my school's golf team for three full seasons and played under its' name for all four years. Each year, I have made it to the Girls' Golf Virginia State Qualifier. This year, I will also be competing in this qualifier.
During my senior year, I hope to find a school that meets my goals and matches my career plan. I hope to find a school that offers both an academic and athletic program that fits what I am looking for. I hope that when I find the program I am looking for, I will have the support that I feel is valuable to my career. My main goal while searching for a school that fits me is that I have the best chance of success both academically and athletically.
