My name is Riley Stone, and I am a Senior at Wind River High School. I am relatively new to the sport of golf as I have only played two years. Growing up I competed competitively in multiple sports from barrel racing, softball, basketball, and soccer. I put in multiple hours, blood, sweat, and tears, however, I never fell in love with any of them. It wasn’t until the summer after my freshman year my mom put a golf club in my hands. With the help of coaches and many hours practicing my golf improved. I got confident enough to try out for the high school team Sophomore year. That golf season, I fell in love with the game of golf, and I even played in a Varsity tournament that year.
I enjoy every minute spent on the course, on the range, and even the practice green. Being coached and learning/improving my golf game is one of the most rewarding things I have ever experienced. I feel that I have a lot of possible growth both on and off the course. I am looking forward to meeting my next coach that will mentor me to the next level while I focus on my academic goals as well.
