My name is Brooke Norkus, It’s always been a dream to play hockey. From the age of 4 with my older brother on an outdoor rink, I knew from that moment this was my passion. I’ve been playing hockey for fifteen years, growing up in the small town of Prince George B.C. I’d always played tier 1 boys hockey until the age of 14 when I moved to female. For the start of my Major Midget years I played for the AAA Female Northern Capitals and led the teams defence in points and the entire team in pp points. I decided to move out to the lower mainland for my last two seasons and play for Delta Hockey academy on the U18 Female Prep team. I believe my biggest attributes I can bring to a team would be my dedication to the game and getting better, my ability to read plays and move the puck quickly, my size, my skating, good body positioning, always have stick on puck and my shot. As a teammate I always try to be an outlet for everyone especially the newer and younger girls, I bring good bench energy and am always super motivated and motivating the girls whether it’s on the ice or in the gym. My two biggest goals in life are to continuously push myself and to become a better person and not worry about others as much and just be proud and confident in my abilities and to be proud of myself and have my parents be proud as they’ve given so much to support me and help me further my career and I believe post secondary hockey can help me accomplish these goals.
