My name is Jada Wood, a fast skating, gritty forward with a shot to score. This year, I am number 43 and a Junior (grade 11) for the Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Female Prep team. I am a dedicated hockey player who is passionate about both the sport and academics. Wanting to play hockey at the highest level for as long as I can, getting an education is a top priority. Although the discipline that I would like to pursue has not yet been finalized, having a degree at the end of my hockey career is my goal.
I am a hard working, tenacious forward that can play center or either wing. Throughout my hockey career, I have been an offensive player using my speed to create scoring opportunities. My coach describes me as a 200 foot player, strong on both sides of the puck and counted on in every situation. I am trusted in key defensive situations, including penalty kill and also utilized to create scoring opportunities, even strength and power play. I pride myself on being in top condition which ensures consistency in my play, day in and day out. I practice hard and am a great team mate bringing enthusiasm and positivity to every team that I play for.
Academically, I am committed to maintaining a strong GPA while attending university in order to continue my education and hockey career. I am a dedicated student who prioritizes academics while balancing hockey development.
