I consider myself to be a strong, stay at home defensemen who is very consistent, reliable and flexible. I pride myself on my hockey sense and attitude both on and off the ice. I come from a family with strong ties to hockey. My great grandfather, Jimmy McFadden, played for Detroit and Chicago winning both the Calder trophy and the Stanley Cup. My cousin Meaghan Mikkelson is a 2-time Olympic gold medalist with the Canadian Female hockey team. I have the same commitment, determination and competitiveness that they needed to succeed.
Off ice I believe in giving back. I volunteer to raise awareness for special needs children, as my youngest sister suffers from the rare genetic disorder, Rett syndrome.
I will continue to push myself in school and on the ice, in the hopes of following in my family’s footsteps, playing at the highest level of hockey possible but also continue to raise awareness for and work in the field with Special Needs Children/ Child & Youth Worker.
