Hi, my name is Chloe and I was born and raised in London with my family and two cats.
From a young age, I developed a passion for ice hockey. Starting at the age of three, I quickly fell in love with the sport, and by the time I was six, I joined a local club team in North London called the Haringey Hounds. Going through the hockey system primarily in the UK, I played hockey alongside boys until I was 16. Along the way, I was selected to play for the England girls U14 and was given the role of captain for a tournament in Bratislava where I started to learn the values of teamwork, perseverance, and effective communication.
More recently I have proudly represented Great Britain in two World Tournaments (Poland, January 2020 and Turkey, June 2022) and was an Assistant captain in a Four Nations Tournament in Iceland (November 2021). It’s been a surreal experience to represent my country playing in IIHF competitions, and I hold it close to my heart. I was recently selected as a reserve player for the GB Senior Women's Team and hope to return to the world stage in the future.
My commitment to athletics extended beyond ice hockey. Throughout my time at school in London, I represented the school in various sporting events, including rugby, football, cross country, handball, basketball, and cricket. Serving as the Girls' Sports Advocate and participating in the Young Leader program, I understood the importance of supporting my teammates and being a positive influence within the sporting community.
One of the most transformative experiences in my athletic career was spending a year abroad when I was 12, and living with a host family in Pennsylvania attending a small school in West Chester. It was an incredible adventure as I was not only living on a farm (which was very different from city life in London) but with two older girls, one American and one Finnish. I am happy to say that because of that trip, I now have two big sisters!
While there, I played for my school’s varsity team and also for the U14 Jr Flyers AAA team. This experience presented me with opportunities to grow both as an athlete and an individual. Being an honour student while embracing the challenges of studying abroad, I became the youngest student to play for the varsity team in all three sports: field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse. This adventure was a pinnacle experience for me as I had never seen so many girls play ice hockey, and be so skilled! This realisation pushed me to strive for more and I started thinking about returning to America to continue my hockey journey with the ultimate goal to one day play college hockey.
I returned to England for 3 years to complete my UK GCSE exams. I have now moved back to the US to pursue high-level hockey and academics at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey where I play for the girl’s varsity hockey team. I also played for the NJ Titans 19 AAA team (2022-23 season) and in the upcoming season I will be playing with an independent U19 team called the East Coast Valkyries.
In addition to my athletic side, I also have an artistic and creative side. I play the alto saxophone and enjoy using watercolour to capture the scenery on holiday. One of my favourite ways to spend downtime is being with my cats and reading mystery novels.
I bring a strong work ethic to my game and I take pride in being a coachable player. I understand the value of listening to my coaches, embracing their guidance, and implementing their feedback to enhance my performance. I approach training and competition with a focused mindset, always seeking opportunities to improve and grow.
