I discovered my love for the game of hockey when I was six years old. Since that fist experience, hockey has been an influential part of my life. Hockey has taught me to have an open mind, patience, resilience, and the importance of hard work. It has been my dream to play hockey at the college level for as long as I can remember.
Academics and Athletics have always been emphasized and prioritized in my family. I am an extremely diligent worker in school and I am proud of my achievements thus far. Like most serious hockey players, I have always had to carefully balance the time commitments between school, hockey, and personal interests. Even from early age, I realized that there would be tough choices due to my busy schedule, but hockey is a choice I continue to make because of my love of the game. During Covid, I was forced to make a very difficult decision; although I wanted to return to in-person school, my school required me to do remote learning if I continued to play club hockey. Although I yearned to be in school connecting with my peers and teachers, I did not feel like my whole self without the ability to play hockey. I am so grateful that hockey has been a constant in my life from a young age, and never before had I fully appreciated that hockey is and always will be my happy place. Playing hockey is a privilege, and it requires the tenacity to manage all of my obligations in order to keep the privilege of doing what I love.
Away from the rink, I have many other diverse interests. I have been playing Field Hockey at the varsity level since freshman year (Defensive Center Midfielder). I am very interested in climate preservation, diversity, equity, inclusion, and music. I plan to study Psychology in college, although I recognize that as I learn new things, my focus may change.
On the ice, I am a hardworking two-way center. Although I believe that I have a hard and accurate shot, I pride myself on playmaking and my ability to see the ice. I led the National Tournament in assists in 2020 and my team placed third overall. As a two year Captain, I felt a strong responsibility for the play and integrity of my team. I work to set the tone for the team; I work hard down low on both ends, and I'm not afraid to play in the tough areas. In the 2021-2022 season, I led my varsity high school team in points and minutes, while leading the team to the New Jersey Prep Championship, and 2nd place in the New Jersey State Tournament(NJSIAA). I earned First Team honors in the WIHLMA conference, as well as first team All-State in New Jersey.
I have worked very hard to get myself to this place in my academic, personal, and athletic career. I realize that playing and thriving at the college level will require an even deeper level of commitment, I am ready for just such a commitment.
