ruby mccall '19 Recruiting Profile

Verbally committed to Sacred Heart University starting in 2020. My first priority is hockey. It is my passion and I strive to be the best I can be. 

I am constantly improving my edge work, stride, and agility. I am on the ice 5 days a week at school for hockey and then I skate with my team. 

My puck handling keeps improving every time I am on the ice and I have great puck protection. I have an awesome backhand shot. I have learned to get my shots off quicker and shoot whenever I get the chance. I am a very non-selfish player and always look to make the best play whether it's shooting the puck or passing. 

My hockey IQ is improving all the time. Attending a hockey school with mostly high level boys really pushes me to get faster, stronger, and more aggressive. At school we are on a small rink and scrimmage at least once a week this really helps me improve my game and to read and react quicker.

I am a very competitive person whether I am at school, practice, a game, or off the ice to help improve myself and others. No matter what is happening in the game I am always supporting my teammates and being positive. I am always there to help my teammates on and off the ice.

I take my academics very seriously. I always try to challenge myself and I take many honors courses currently. Taking online school has helped me a ton with managing my time, attention to detail, and taking charge of my own education.

I am a very coachable player and love getting feedback from coaches so I can improve my game. I want to attend a school I can excel and grow in hockey and academically.
