Hi! My name is Kamryn Johnson. I am a grade 12 player on the Swift Current AAA Wildcats. I am a well balanced and responsible young adult with a focus on athletics, academics, and family and friends.
I’m lucky enough to be able to play competitive hockey in my hometown, but now it is time to explore my options for the next stage of my life. One of my biggest aspirations in life is to be able to play university hockey at the same time I build my career to become a medical professional.
My height and long reach (5’11”; 160 lbs) allow me to be a defensive and penalty kill specialist. I see the ice and make heads up plays to enable a transition game. In addition to my defensive play, I enjoy the powerplay and carrying carry the puck to transition zones. My hard shot creates chances from the blue line.
I am always looking to self improve. I want to improve my fast feet, carry the puck a bit more and generate more chances with a quicker shot.
I have been fortunate to be coached (past and current) by excellent leaders. I am very coachable and quickly adapt my play style to what is best for the team and its systems.
