I became an equestrian in first grade, and have been showing horses ever since. Growing up, I was on a few team sports in elementary school, but never really found my place. When I was in 6th grade my younger brother started playing lacrosse, and naturally, I became his practice partner. I started going to his games I fell in love with the sport. My Science teacher let me borrow a stick, as I joined her after school for weekly practice. She was very technical and taught me so much about the game. She really made me understand the game and the role of each position. I joined our town team in 6th grade and started playing in a club league in 8th grade, attending any clinic I could find to make me a better defensive player.
As a high school junior, I strive to be a better player. I set goals for myself, and work hard to achieve them on and off the field. I wanted to play midfield and draw, so i spent most of Covid working out at home . My hard work has paid off and my love of the sport has continued to grow. As a varsity player, I am confident as a leader on the field, playing both offense and defense. I am fortunate that my experience playing club has made me a versatile player with a strong IQ of the game something my teammates rely on when we are playing tough teams.
My first-grade self would be shocked to see that I won't be riding horses in college, but I am looking forward to playing lacrosse.
