Hi! I'm Bridget FitzGerald and I row at the Connecticut Boat Club under the guidance and support of Liz Trond. I began rowing late November of 2022 after encouragement from my family and friends. Throughout my novice year, I quickly fell in love with the sport. I enjoy being out on the water and a part of a competitive team environment. The rigorous workouts and training help to keep me motivated to become faster and learn better technique. I am very self-disciplined in both academics and athletics and rowing pushes me past my limits.
Prior to rowing, I played competitive field hockey, tennis and basketball for my high school. I grew up swimming competitively as well, and love being out on the water. I also love being an active person, rowing truly pushes me everyday mentally and physically and my goal is to row at the collegiate level.
Academically, I continue to challenge myself with a rigorous course load and extracurricular activities. I am a participant in 21 Strong, an organization dedicated to spreading awareness about Down Syndrome. I also help teach religious education, and was selected to mentor freshmen at my high school throughout their first year of high school. I also love art and am a member of the National Honor Art Society. I enjoy making a positive impact on my community and working with others who share my common interests.
