In middle school I did a cardboard boat regatta and ever since that day, I fell in love with this sport. I am so dedicated and passionate about rowing.
My main goal in life is to push and surprise myself to see what I can accomplish. I really like taking risks, pushing my limits, and exploring new things. One goal I have is to go to 25 countries before I graduate. I am currently at 16. For one of my electives in school, I chose 'Fire Academy' which is a course that trains you to be a firefighter. I am learning a lot of cool skills I never thought I would learn in high school including putting out live fires. This year I am taking 7 AP classes because I really wanted to push myself and see what I can accomplish. I also want to make an impact on others' lives. I want to show people that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I love giving advice to my teammates about how to overcome mental blocks on the ergs and how to find the motivation to work out outside of practice. I want to continue to challenge myself throughout high school and college while having fun at the same time!
I have this inner strength and determination. It keeps me motivated on my own and makes me push myself as much as possible. I work really hard and put everything out there every time even if it's just a tech day. I lift and erg on my own and I love encouraging my teammates to join me. I am willing to work hard and give it my all no matter what. At SDCC last year I even raced while being sick with food poisoning. My teammates are really important to me so this motivation spreads to helping my teammates with anything whether it is boosting boat morale, advice, or just crushing our race! I try to spread positivity to everyone during practice and races especially when things aren't going our way because one off-practice or race doesn't define us.
