Currently, I have just started my junior year at Soldotna High School, in Soldotna Alaska. I started playing soccer when I was four years old with the local Boys and Girls Club. I started to really begin showing interest with competitive soccer when I was about eight years old and joined the Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club whom I have played with until 2021 when I switched to Anchorage Rush, then June 2022 I moved over to Cook Inlet Soccer Club also in Anchorage. I did take a season off when I was 11 years old, making me really analyze and think about soccer. When I returned the next season, I was refreshed and knew I was in love with the sport. As a goalie, I have learned to be more expressive with my teammates and really see what is happening on the field.
I have learned more about who I am as an individual and an athlete. I believe I have become more accepting to my mistakes and the mistakes that my teammates may make on the field and have been able to learn from these. I have learned to be confident in myself. Over the years, I have started to think more about what I want to be and do with my future, and have started to set goals for myself. Goals are important and I know they won't be easy to achieve, but I believe hard work and a love for something will help overcome challenges. One goal I have set recently is to begin working toward earning scholarships and being seen by coaches near and far. Stepping out of my comfort zone, including going out of state to tournaments with the Alaska Development Program team, traveling 150 plus miles to play with girls whom I always competed against (Anchorage Rush and Cook Inlet Soccer Club) just so I can play and can continue to learn and enjoy the game.
