Hello, my name is Brooke! I am a 6'0 defender who plays as a Center-Back, and I am graduating in 2025. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and I have wanted to play post secondary soccer for as long as I can remember. One of the things I bring to my team is leadership. I served as our team captain for the last two seasons. I am an encouraging and vocal teammate and I am coachable with a good attitude, and I always demonstrate a team first mentality. I am a very hard worker, and I often stay behind our practices to continue to work on my game. Some of my strengths as a player are; I am a strong and physical defender, I have good skill on the ball, (always working on my touches) and I have long range on my shots. I am the penalty and free kick taker on my team. (Check out my video) I see the field well and I am confident and calm on the ball in all situations.
The game has given me some great experiences. Although I have received a few personal accolades along the way, some of the best experiences I have had in the game so far are, playing in two BC Coastal Cup Championships where we took home Gold and Silver in back to back years. I have also played in two BC Provincial Championship Finals, also taking home Gold and Silver in back to back years. Fun fact! I have an identical twin sister who also plays soccer. She is an amazing Goal Keeper and I have been playing with her since we first kicked a ball together. Our journey together has also taken us to England where we played against Manchester City Woman's academy. I want to continue my journey and find a place where I can continue my education, and to grow and improve both as a player and as a person.
Away from my team, I am a certified full field soccer referee and I have been officiating since the age of 12. I have progressed up the levels to where I am now filling the role of an assistant official for Woman's Premier games locally. Being a ref has helped me develop a better understanding of the game as both a player and official. I also mentor young new officials in my spare time to help them in their journey as a soccer referee. My education is also very important to me. I am currently taking advanced science courses because I want to major in kinesiology, and eventually become a physiotherapist. I love learning the body and someday I would like to be able to help others.
