Sports had always been a part of my life, whether it was watching an older cousin play or playing myself, but I didn't truly fall in love with soccer until 6th grade. Playing soccer became a necessity in my life as I played for my middle school and for my local club. However, when age groups were changing and so were the teams of my local club, my family and I decided to make a club change my freshman year. After trying out for multiple club teams, we ultimately decided to commit to Fort Wayne United, who, although an hour and a half away from my house, was the best choice for my athletic growth as a goalkeeper. Through this transition, I was able to not only grow athletically, but also in my leadership abilities, work ethic, and mental attitude.
Being a part of two completely different types of teams has been something I have loved for the past few years. In the fall I would play on my small Christian school's varsity girls' soccer team where we would be lucky to have 3 substitutes and then in the spring I would play on a larger team composed of girls that were some of the best of their high school teams. These two completely different environments allowed me to become a better team player on any team, through my contribution to the teams physically and mentally as not only a teammate who wants to win, but also as a friend who is there no matter the outcome. I am looking for a program that will challenge me academically and athletically. I believe that I have the talent to compete at the college level, as well as the determination, leadership, and character to truly make an impact on your program. As a committed athlete and team captain, I firmly believe I have what it takes to be a part of your next level team!
