My name is Maddie Schneider and I am a two-sport athlete. I am from Albert Lea, Minnesota. I play hockey and soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was 8. My team won state my U11 and my U16 years. I scored the winning goal in the state championship final my U16 year. My 7th grade year I was voted “Most Valuable Player” on C squad and had also been used as a pull up for Varsity. I was then moved up to Varsity my 8th grade year and have been a Varsity starter since then. I have played all positions, but prefer playing forward. I currently play both forward and mid fielder for my Varsity team. I feel my strengths in soccer are that I am fast, I can see openings where I can set my teammates up to score, and I have a good, strong shot on goal.
Right now, I am interested in the area of Criminal Justice/ Forensics. So far in High School I have been on the A and B honor roll and am in all advanced courses. I am interested in going to school wherever the best opportunity is provided. My goal is that I would like to play in the best division that I qualify for.
I also play hockey. I started playing hockey at the age of 7. I had a coach that told me one time when I was playing goalie that I was a natural. This was at age 8. I started playing this position more and really liked it. I played two years of U10 girls hockey and we were district champions my second year of U10. I played one year of U12 and then was talked to by the Varsity head coach that I should try out for varsity my 7th grade year. I ended up beating out the starter goalie and have been the starting goalie ever since. I have also played summer AAA teams since I was U12 age. I was selected to play in the MN Super Series and the All Select team at the age of U12 also. For the MN Super Series our team took 1st place. For the past three years I have been playing on teams that are above my age level. I feel my strengths are my speed and reaction time.
I hope you consider me for your team as I am a hard worker, a team player, and I do not give up.
