Mackenzie Madison '15 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has always been a passion of mine, from the snap of a shot to the smack of a block I am motivated to constantly give all my effort. I played my first game when I was five years old as a forward in park and recreation. I did not play with a soccer team until I was in seventh grade as a defensive player. My eighth grade year I tried out as goalkeeper and fell in love with the position, since then that remains my most ardently preferred position. I strive for success at practice so that I can continuously improve in games and I take up any opportunity to train and exceed expectations. 

My team has become family to me.  Since I can form a strong relationship with others, it makes communication on field easier. In goal, I communicate constantly including directing the formation of a wall and informing my teammate when a defender is on them. I bring strong skills in goal with ball handling and distribution. I can punt the ball to half-field plus and throw up to half-field. My skills also are in extension dives and break away dives. I am an aggressive player and hard-working. Sportsmanship is an important quality to me. When I knock a girl down due to a break away dive I try my best to be kind and help them up.

I aspire to be a student athlete throughout my college career. It will help prepare me for life outside of school, in the workforce. Your teammates are your coworkers, your coach is your boss and your performance is your work. I want to attend college for a major in food sciences, or Art education. I also want to receive a minor in writing. In the future, I hope to become a certified coach so I can continue my passion of soccer, and inspire more kids to be active.

No matter the results of a game, I will end it with a smile because I feel lucky to be able to participate in such a beautiful game.
