Ruby Eskin '24 Recruiting Profile

I have played hockey since the age of 5 years. I started playing with the boys on the Minneapolis Titans youth hockey association. I played defense for this team until I joined the Roseville girl's hockey program at the U12 level. With the switch to girl's hockey, I started playing offensive positions, first wing and then center. Having played defense in my very early days of hockey gives me a well-rounded perspective of the game. Today, I enjoy hustling on a back check and making a needed defensive play almost as much as assisting or scoring on the offensive side. I also have been a go-to person on my team for the last two years for defending power plays because of my good defensive minded play. Of all of the positions I have played thus far though, I prefer to play at the center position. I like the physicality of this position and I like calling plays from the face off and utilizing the strengths of my teammates around me. I am a selfless player who really works to make others around me the best they can be. I was awarded most coachable teammate on my Squirt boy's team and my desire to learn and grow in the sport continues to this day. I also play varsity girl's soccer and have participated in track at the varsity level. This cross training has really helped my physical development. A goal of mine is to play hockey at a high level, so I am working hard to secure future opportunities to do so.
