Hello! My name is Scarlett Black and I am a member of the Class of 2025 at Mary Help of Christians Academy, a Catholic all girls school, located in North Haledon, NJ. My soccer journey began in 2009 at the age of 3 and I have honed my skills over the years to become a standout athlete and a true asset to my team(s). I consider myself a 4-season soccer player, always practicing, training and playing.
As a center midfielder, I anticipate plays and control the game. My breakaway speed and precise ball delivery make me a versatile player who can both score goals and create scoring opportunities for my teammates. I have incredible stamina and can finish the last minute of the game as strong as the first. As a sophomore, I led my Varsity High School team in both goals and assists and was recognized by New Jersey’s Girls Soccer Coaches Association (NJGSCA) as a top player.
Beyond soccer, I am an honor student currently tackling a rigorous course load, including Advanced Placement (AP) classes, college level courses, and honors classes. My dedication to academics parallels my commitment to soccer, showcasing my ability to excel in multiple facets of life. When I’m not on the soccer field or excelling in the classroom, I enjoy my other creative passions as an accomplished pianist, a member of multiple choirs, and an artist. I also have a strong sense of community service and actively contribute to various initiatives including being a dedicated leader of my parish’s youth group and the Vice President of the student body within my school’s executive board on student council, demonstrating my commitment to both faith and community.
Since soccer has been a part of my daily life for as long as I can remember, my next chapter as a college student would be incomplete without it. However, I also have a strong vision for my future and will be pursuing a pre-med curriculum in college with the ultimate goal of attending medical school to become an Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN). I am determined to make a positive impact both on and beyond the soccer field, and am excited for a career in healthcare where I can support women’s health throughout all phases of life.
