My name is Alyssa Harrington. I would say that I am a utility player. I've been a striker, outside midfielder and outsider back. If my coach needed me as a backup keeper, I’ve done it, center midfielder, I’ve played that too. My size is an advantage as I’m not easily pushed off the ball or pushed over whether I’m on offense or defense. I seem to surprise my opponents with my burst speed. It's kinda fun! I like playing on the left so I can use my left foot to shoot or to cross, but I’m just as good with my right foot too! So wherever my coach needs me to be, I’m happy to play that position. I believe in training hard, training how we would play in a game, so that when it’s time for the game, we can have fun and just enjoy playing.
My future goal is to continue playing at the next level in college, to qualify for a scholarship, so that I can pursue a degree in pre-med and become an Anesthesiologist. I knew I wanted to go into health care since I was young, but over the past couple of years with my dad in and out of the hospital battling cancer, I found I wanted to pursue this career even more. It was a hard year when his health declined and when he passed away in January 2024, but his death is just more motivation to try my hardest, to be the best person I can be, to never quit, and to keep working toward my goals no matter what. So my promise to my family, coaches, and teammates is to do just that!
