It was 11 years ago that I played soccer for the first time. Despite being only four years old I knew immediately that I loved the sport, though at that point it was mostly for the orange slices and Capri-Suns at half time. From then on I played at any chance I got. As I grew as a player and a person, my love for soccer grew just as much. In fourth grade I finally tried out for a select travel team. I thrived at the higher level of competition brought on by a more selective program. Not only did my skills improve tremendously, but being on a new team with brand new people I had never met before helped my social skills, and overall helped me become a well-rounded person. I played as the starting center mid on this team for five years and through it all I made lifelong friends and some of my favorite memories. Eventually though, all things must come to an end. My travel team disbanded as we all went our separate ways to play for our respective high schools. Yet again, I was blessed with one of the most talented and supportive teams I could have asked for. I was able to continue playing as the starting center mid for my new team, and I got to celebrate my school spirit while doing so. After an amazing season my teammates and I continued to practice whenever we found time between schoolwork and our other sports. I am now a rising sophomore and could not be more excited to see what next the coming season will bring. I can't wait to get back out on the game field and am so ready to become the best player I can be!
