Personal Statement

I have played center back since fifth grade on three different club teams.  My current team lacked offense and instead relied on defense to get us through games.  My coach decided to change things up and put me at attacking midfield at the top of the diamond.  I was able to distribute the ball forward and get shots off.  Currently, my coach puts me at striker in hopes of scoring as many goals as possible.  In four months I have scored about ten goals, including two hat-tricks.  I am a versatile player and a dedicated teammate who will give everything to help my team be successful.  I am passionate about soccer and am always looking for more opportunities to improve my physical and mental game.  I am looking for a college that will encourage me to get better both in academics and on the field.  I am always looking for insight on how to play faster and smarter, and I want to be in a community where there is drive and passion that makes all teammates strive to be their best.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsI was given the Mary Award, which is an award that is given to one student at each grade level for outstanding citizenship. I also was elected to join the Captain's Council, a group of athletic individuals who embody leadership and sportsmanship. I was chosen to be a representative of Holy Names at HOBY Washington, a three-day leadership conference focused on developing sophomore leaders and encouraging them to take action in their communities. I am also a part of the National Honor Society.
  • ActivitiesI am a leader of the club Cards For Kids at my high school. We make festive cards and deliver them to kids at Children's Hospital who need added brightness to their day. I also am a part of Fashion Club and Mock Trial at Holy Names. In addition, I started a Leadership Club that enables other students to discover their leadership abilities, building off of the idea that HOBY instilled in me. I have been a Big Sister to freshmen at Holy Names for two years, helping them transition into high school smoothly.
