Personal Statement
I am currently in 8th grade and will start High School fall of 2023, class of 2027. I see myself doing well in a team environment, giving my all, and will make a valuable contribution to my team in my swimming performance as well as supporting team members. I have been lucky to watch, learn, befriend the swimmers of Northern Arizona University team/ Arizona Swim Camp as we share the same pool as my club team. In addition, our pool hosts International swimmers throughout the year. I have been personally recognized many times by the coaches as the hardest worker in our practices, you should see my collection of caps!
My swimming career started like many of my peers due to my parents starting with lesson during the summer months. They all took noticed that I had the drive from the beginning with the challenge of swimming one lap to get out of the baby pool and swim in the big pool, I was 6. Swimming became a major part of my life from that very first competitive practice. As an early age group swimmer, I would balance my time between competitive soccer and swim. The call to swim full time came the summer at the age of 10 with my first travel meet to Far Westerns. With the help of my coaches and family I learned the value of goal setting, disciplined, self-motivated, a go-getter and never give up attitude have molded me into the swimmer I am today. In academics I strive to do the best I can in and out of the classroom, and I work hard to achieve the necessary grades needed to support my future athletic career.
Over the summer of 2022, I achieved four sectional qualifying times in 200m fly, 400m free, 800m free and 1500m as well of winning high point Age Group 13/14 at LC AZ Age Group State Championships. My goals are set for "Futures times" as well as breaking many of my Club and future HS team records. I consider myself a very social swimmer as my best friends are swimmers I have met at meets and swim camps from all over the country. Please keep following my swimming in the upcoming years.
