Earning my first Summer Junior National cut in the 200 IM, Sophomore year at CIF State Champs, and placing second has been the highlight of my career, so far. My Sophomore year in December, I felt I grew the most as a swimmer; after arguably the best couple of training cycles of my life, I pull a hamstring a week and a half before Junior Nationals. Since I was injured at Junior Nationals I had to scratch more than half my events, and I added four seconds in the 200 IM; which was devastating, but I kept a positive mindset and later that meet I dropped 0.2 in the 100 back. It taught me how to be mentally tough and maintain a positive mindset when all the odds are against my favor. I've been swimming since I was five years old, but I fell in love with swimming when I switched swim teams when I was around twelve.
