Jonny Brinton '21 Recruiting Profile

My ultimate strengths, and what sets me apart from other keepers,  is my feet and my communication on the field. I am one of the best players on my team with my feet, and because of that, my defense plays me the ball constantly  during the game to reset and gain control. I am always communicating with my entire team, telling them what positions to be in, and guiding them up the field. Along with those strengths I am ready for any shot that comes my way, and am prepared to sacrifice everything to stop it. 

I started playing soccer when I was 3 years old. When I turned 13 I was bumped down to the lowest level of Soccer allowed in the US. I was very out of shape, and I was devastated of this outcome. I wouldn’t let this be the end though. I worked like crazy to get my body in shape and my skills in touch and within a year and a half I tried out for the De Anza Force Academy team and made it. I always think back to my journey and how far I’ve come to get where I am today. I know my journey is not over yet, and I know I have the hard working abilities to succeed anywhere and in anything I put my mind to.
