I began my swimming career at the age of seven and immediately fell in love with the sport, and now we’re only two years away from celebrating our decennial wedding anniversary!
Over the past eight years, I have learned many life skills from swim. Since I grew up in my club team, I have been both the young child who looked up to the mature, older swimmers and also am now the one to lead those new, inexperienced swimmers. I am also ambitious in both my regular life and in swim, and I have always set goals and pushed myself to see the results.
Swimming has always been my passion, and not only is it a fun way to exercise and make new friends, but it has also taught me the importance and strength of a community. Inspired by this, in my Sophomore year, a friend and I started our own non-profit organization, Ready Set Swim!, which is dedicated to teaching water safety and education in the Pensacola area to children coming from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. From educational videos on our website to biweekly lessons at various locations, I hope to soon give back to my community through swim.
