I am very academically driven, I enjoy school and learning very much. My career goal would be to go to medical school and eventually become an orthopedic surgeon. Track is my main focus outside of school, and I am very close to my teammates and coaches and love working together with them to be a successful individual and help create a successful team. As an athlete, I love being part of a team and cheering on all my teammates, as well as working hard doing my best as an individual. I have competed for my high school for two seasons now, and ran for our local club team during indoor season as well. I have been a jumper up until about April, when my coach wanted me to run hurdles in a meet to fill a spot for someone. I did very well, and they are now sort of my specialty, although I still do both long and high jump and all the relays. This year I finished on the 2A state podium for all four of my events: I came in second for the 100 hurdles, sixth for the 300H, 9th for high jump, and our 4x1 team finished 2nd. We are moving up to 3A next year and my goal is to bring my time down to 14.5 and win the 100HH at state. I am coachable and eager to do well, and so far I have continued to improve my hurdle time every race. I am also running for a club team again this summer and will compete for them in indoor as well. I have a huge passion for track, especially the hurdles, and also enjoy worshipping God through running. I am an avid Fellowship of Christian Athletes member at my school, and I am on the leadership team for the fall. I am incredibly excited for next track season, and would absolutely love to run in college. My collegiate goal would be to compete in the heptathlon for a selective, academically rigorous school which could be a good pathway into medical school and beyond. Thanks very much for your time!
