Running track is my best talent. I know that I am a good track runner because I have been very successful. I started running track my 9th grade year at Eastern Senior High School. I was eager to ran track starting in the 6th grade, but it just seemed like all the middle schools that I attended did not have a team. My season started with cross country with was very hard. Cross Country was hard but I was the second best on my team. We would have to run 3.1 miles every Cross Country meet. I am more of a sprinter so Cross Country was challenging but not too much I couldn’t handle. During my 9th grade year I ran better than most 11th and 12th graders. Then is 10th grade I was even more successful. I was running even faster times and I get all met indoor and outdoor track. I also got MVP at state championship indoor and outdoor. Track isn't always roses though because I had some bad days in track. When I was at state championship I didn't come in the top 3 for hurdles I came in 4th place and usually I get first place. We lost a lot of point because I wasn’t at my best that day.
It is currently my 11th Grade year and I transferred to Maya Angelou public charter school so that I can run track for KIPP. KIPP didn’t work out so I transferred to Dunbar. I transferred to a new school because I wanted a better opportunity for myself. The coaches that I trained with were more experience in track. I wanted my coaches to take me farther than where I currently was at the time and indeed they did because now I am USA number 2 in high jump and my 300 time has come down Drastically. Many people have tried to stop me from proceedings Run Track. For example, my Old Coach reported to the headquarters of Sports they called Maya Angelou trying to go figure out If I lied about the reason why I transfer. The rule says if you do not transfer before your 10th year then you must sit out a year of that sport but the rules also says if you move you can transfer to a new school and still can play that Sport. I transfer my 11th grade years so the coach from Eastern tried to say that I violated that rule but I did not Violate that rule because I move it was okay for me to transfer.
If it’s one thing that I can’t live without its track; so, I’m going to work my hardest to become an Olympic runner and a track coach. Track is a second nature to me so I know a lot about track so coaching track will be easy. I currently run track right now as a high school student. When it comes to running track and I want to be the world's fastest 400-meter runner, one of best high jumpers and best coach. I plan on running track until I am 30 years of age. I have a good track background therefore I can’t help other runners do well in track also. I wouldn't have been as interested in track if it was for Olympics runner like Sondra Richardson Ross and Allyson Felix. They both made a great impact on my life because they both showed me what hard work gets you. Track has been a big success so far. Me being the best in dc opens a lot of doors like colleges and full rides scholarships so that I can hopefully go to this wonderful school. Track is good but there are. Besides track I have other important things. Things like get straight a’s so I can have a good cumulative GPA. I always strive to do my best and I want to do my best in school and on the track.
This world needs a change and I am going to be the person to make it. I going to make sure a contribute to the world that I live in by giving the children in this world something to do with their life instead of run the streets or getting in trouble they will have an outlet such as running track. I want to show them that they can go to college and have Send Sensational outcome. People stay if I make but I say when I make it. Track is wonderful thing and only some can do it, only some and stick to it. That some is me. I am Thea Shaw FUTURE OLYMPIAN.
