Soleil Jimenez '20 Recruiting Profile

I love the feeling of the adrenaline rushing through my body, my heart races and then I hear the sound of the gun go off. Then the air is filled with silence and all I hear are the sounds of sneakers hitting the ground stride after stride. While I'm running I focus on my breathing and try to block out everything that is going on around me.  When I first started Track & Field I was 12 years old in middle school. Ever since then I have fallen in love with the sport and running. Running is my passion, it is my escape from everything. Running for me is my happy place and almost like therapy for me. This has inspired me to run at the collegiate level and I know that by participating in this sport can change my life. 

I am a leader in my school and in my community. I am part of a leadership group in my school called "TI Peer Leadership" and it is a group that promotes staying drug and alcohol free. I am also a team player and like to lead by a good example for others. I strive for greatness and I am ambitious to meet my goals.

With playing sports academics is very important to me, and that is where a student athlete comes in. I'm in AP and honor classes, and try very hard to maintain a good GPA while playing sports. 

I want to attend college to do well in Track and reach my goal of being the first to graduate college in my family and to become a Dentist. It will come with a lot of hard work and dedication, but with my family and support I know I can succeed and achieve anything I want in life.
