Hi, my name is Summer Elza and I am a Junior at the Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies. Thank you for taking the time to read about me, considering the numerous statements you are reading.
My ambition in life is to attend college and pursue a degree in Actuarial Science while also competing in collegiate volleyball. I'll keep working hard to achieve my best for my future school so that I can pursue my desired career. One of the things that inspires me to pursue Actuary Science is the number of people in my family who have pursued this career path and are role models for me. Being a member of a collegiate volleyball team would add to the sweetness of my dream, so I'll be working hard to one day play on a college team.
I would make a great candidate for your college team because I know what it’s like to work hard for something I am passionate about. Throughout my years of playing, I have never stopped striving to improve my talents, particularly in setting and defensive play, as well as other areas such as my mental game and court awareness. My skill and openness to be used as a utility player by my coaches for the sake of my team is something that makes me proud of myself. I have a leadership trait and set of skills in which I know how to keep a team going even when all seems lost and make a bigger and better outcome. I am passionate about every one of my teammates and will pick up quickly on each of their needs to succeed.
Regardless of the situation, I don’t perceive my status to be above others, whether it be in a classroom, on a court, or with family and friends. I understand that your contribution to life is of far greater importance than your origin. Every individual, either on the court or in a classroom, brings a unique perspective and set of skills that provide an opportunity for growth and diversity. My perseverance and drive along with my ability to be coachable, flexible, and adapt quickly will make me a great asset to your team.
