My name is Sapphyra Coleman and I currently play as an Opposite/Right Side Hitter for the class of 2025. I am a versatile player who can play different front and back row positions, as needed. I started playing volleyball in fourth grade through my local parks and recreation facility and fell in love with the game. I found that I loved being a part of a team and also working hard to develop my skills as an individual athlete. I tried out for my fifth grade school volleyball team and have been playing ever since. In elementary school, both my coach and principal recommended that I join a club, and I did just that! I have played with Force Performance Volleyball for two years and am really passionate about the game. Though I can be described as reserved by nature, I come alive during Volleyball and am constantly working on becoming stronger, faster and increasingly more competitive.
I was invited to the USAV High Performance try-out in 2020 and also just received and invitation to an Exact Training camp in June of this year. I will be honest, I did not know what to expect at the USAV tryouts and was in awe of the talented athletes who I am honored to consider as my peers. Though I was not chosen for the team, I did take the feedback to heart and was encouraged by the coaches assessments and feedback. That feedback has driven me to be achieve my goals and compete at the collegiate level. I have a 3.25 GPA and will be taking Honors English and Honors Geography during my Freshman year in High School. My goal is to attend a Four-Year University as a student athlete with an end result of acquiring a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. My motto is play smart, work hard, making academic kills and Volleyball power hits!
