Personal Statement
Prior to focusing on volleyball, I played soccer, basketball and softball. I discovered my love of volleyball after playing on my school’s 8th grade team. Since I joined my first club team in 2014, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. Playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I am now dedicated full-time to volleyball and the work required to make that dream come true.
I am strong, long (6’5” wingspan) and athletic on the court and win most net battles. I’ve always been the youngest and least experienced on the court so I’ve tried to show leadership by being the hardest worker and providing positive encouragement of my teammates. As I get older and more experienced, I’m finding my leadership voice a little more too.
In the classroom, I study hard, participate in class and maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer every summer coaching 5th graders in our local youth volleyball program. I am a member of our high school DECA and Key Club programs.
I seek to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the volleyball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to set a positive example for younger players and be a role model to all my peers.
