My first introduction to volleyball began when I was 7 years old. I went to a summer day camp with middle and high schoolers. I was the youngest one, but the coach allowed me to attend with the older girls because I was enthusiastic and well-behaved. I fell in love with volleyball and have been playing ever since. I began playing club volleyball when I was 12 years old, Catholic Youth Organization Volleyball when I was 13, and started Junior Varsity at my high school when I was 14.
If my coaches were asked about me, I believe that they would describe me as dedicated, coachable, and hard-working. I am a leader on my club volleyball team playing almost every point and encouraging and cheering on my teammates. I am currently an outside hitter for my team, but am a versatile player that can play any position. I have a strong jump float serve and am a consistent passer that other teams try to avoid. I also strive to keep improving my skills so that I can fulfill my dream of playing volleyball in college.
In addition to volleyball, I dedicate myself to my studies. I don't do anything halfway. I maintain an unweighted 3.7 GPA while attending an academically prestigious private high school and taking honors classes. I believe that both words in the term "student athlete" are equally important to my continued success.
I would be an asset to any college team because I am an adaptable team player with a positive attitude.
