My name is Samantha Kruse, and I have been playing volleyball since 5th grade. I have played middle, opposite, and outside hitter. Primarily I would love to play outside hitter, but I am open to playing any position I am needed for.
Volleyball has taught many things that I use in my everyday life, such as organization, maintaining a positive attitude, and how to be a team player. Having volleyball, a job, volleyball camps, academics, training, and extra-curricular activities seems like a challenge to balance. With what volleyball has taught me, I have been able to manage every day with ease.
While my passion is volleyball, I also work hard in academics and plan to major in Biology or Chemistry in college. In my spare time, I have a part-time job, as well as volunteering throughout my community by participating in our Youth Volleyball Camp, SAK Lunch Program, and National Honors Society services (also NHS officer - treasurer).
During club season, I played as an outside hitter. When needed, I was able to play all-around. One of my favorite club experiences was placing third at Colorado Crossroads Qualifier in the 15u USA division, taking home a bid for nationals.
As a freshman, sophomore, and junior, I was a starter on our high school volleyball team as an outside hitter and opposite.
One of my goals is to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I know that my versatility, dedication, and integrity as a player will help me to be an asset to my team.
