Words I would use for describing myself on the court are determined and competitive. My drive and focus is to put 110% into every point. I take in all the advice and coaching I can get and put into practice to be a better player. I hustle and don’t give up. I have plenty of court burns during the season to prove it. I hate to lose, and if I do, I don’t make it easy for the other team: they really have to earn it. I feel I get my competitiveness from my dad (he played football in college) and my brother (tennis and basketball in college), anything with a ball around our house turns into a competitive challenge.
My high school volleyball career consists of playing on the junior varsity team as a freshman; getting a couple call ups to varsity that year and the last two years on Varsity. I play all positions in the front row and serve; and have played all around when coach asks. This past season we won our conference with an overall record of 27-7 and a conference record of 6-1. We won our Sectional tournament and lost in Regionals. I have attached an activity profile that highlights additional accomplishments and academics.
I really want to work at the next level and keep challenging myself on the court and continue growing with the game. I know I will only get better and better the longer I play. I really thrive in a team environment. I do my best to lead by example and leave all the drama off the court. A favorite part of the game for me is motivating my team mates by pumping them up and providing mo-jo during the match and watch them turn it around and get positive. It is pure fun and very rewarding.
