Personal Statement
When my family moved from Connecticut to Maryland, I wanted to find a new sport to play. I found volleyball and fell in love. I love playing with a team and the challenge of always getting better. In the five years I have played I have gone from being a rookie on the bench to an open level player. I keep working hard to better my skills and attend all the camps and clinics I can. I listen to my coach’s input and make the changes needed. I also do workouts at the gym to become a stronger player. My dream is to play volleyball at the highest level I can. I am a versatile player and that makes me a great fit on any team. Coaches have asked me to play a number of different positions, including middle blocker! My preferred position to play is in the back row as a DS/Libero, but I have enjoyed the challenge of excelling at any position. I don’t let the ball drop and I give 100% effort every time I am on the court. I also know how important it is for the team to stay positive. I am always cheering my teammates on whether I am on or off the court. I believe that I was selected to be the MVP of my gold medal winning team at the Capital Hill Classic in Washington, DC because of my hard work and effort.
I am excited to continue to rise to the challenge of playing volleyball at higher levels and cheering my teammates to be the best we can be.
