Olivia Richard '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Olivia (Liv) Richard. I have been playing volleyball as a middle hitter for 5 years and am unsure of which major I will pursue in college. By playing in college, I plan on becoming a better overall volleyball player as well as a stronger, more outgoing writer. While I have greatly improved in both areas over the years I still strive to grow and develop my skills. As for why I'm a great candidate for your team, I tend to analyze what I am doing before blocking a kill attempt, striking a ball, or jumping to kill an overpass. In fact, I have caught myself on camera angling my feet to block a ball into a certain spot when I recognize an opportunity to do so. I am also a great candidate because of how I make it my mission to cheer on my teammates and make sure that my team does not go down without a fight. I truly believe that in volleyball, the most important characteristic of a player is not having the strongest arms or the fastest legs but having the will to never give up. I not only give it my all in volleyball but also in academics, which makes me different from others. The majority of my classes are honors classes, I have received a high honors award as well as a world language award, and I am an active participant in Girl Scouts. In addition to taking honors classes, I often choose honors electives such as Making History and Asian Studies.
