I have always been athletic and have been able to excel at whatever activity or sport I have participated in, but I could not find my passion until I discovered volleyball. I have been a cheerleader, a gymnast, a softball player, a dancer, a lacrosse player, a basketball player, a swimmer, and I was even on a parkour team but there was always something missing. I started playing volleyball in middle school and I have not looked back since. I love the individual and team contributions needed to be successful. I thrive on fast-paced play and pushing myself. I try to take a leadership role on and off the court so that I can influence the attitude of my team. In both my AAU and High School careers I have always been the youngest player at the Varsity and National level, so I have really had to work hard on my self-confidence and make sure I am always learning from my teammates and coaches. When the pressure is on, I rise to the challenge, and it gives me great satisfaction knowing I was able to prove to myself and my teammates that we win and lose, TOGETHER! I may be young, but I come from a long line of strong women in my life which has helped me to know my worth and to always try to help others around me. That has led me to my academic interests of mental health and psychology/sociology. I have always had an inner voice that has pushed me towards wanting to help others with their personal struggles and I have the empathy to help. My mom always tells me I am an old soul. I am very open to how my personal, academic, and athletic skills will drive my college education. The future looks bright....
