Personal Statement
I have grown up around volleyball and my love and passion for the game started at a young age. My mom is a high school volleyball coach and I started sitting on her bench when I was 3 years old. From a young age, I knew I wanted to make the varsity team as a freshman and play college volleyball. I am a goal-driven person and a fierce competitor. I played on my first AAU team when I was 8 years old. My depth of knowledge for the game helps me as a setter set up my team to be successful. This past year as a freshman on our varsity team, I was not afraid to be a leader even as the youngest player on the team. I helped lead our team to our first district title since 2017. I am looking forward to my sophomore season.
As a student-athlete, I understand the importance of being well-rounded and committed to my studies as well as being a good citizen in my community. I have received numerous awards recognizing and highlighting my character and community involvement as well as academic success. I am currently part of our school's Student-Athlete Leadership Team. As part of this team, I have attended student leadership conferences where I hope to continue to grow as a leader on and off the court.
I believe my strong work ethic, passion, and commitment have helped prepare me for the challenges of balancing academics, athletics, and extracurriculars now and in the future.
