I had the honorable opportunity of competing in and winning the Division III State Championships this past fall. I lead my team to reach this goal that we all desired. I had extra drive and perseverance to do so after losing in the finals my freshman year and then again in the semi-finals as a sophomore. We worked hard all season long and stayed united as a team, which is one of the most important parts of being on a competitive path.
After such a successful high school season, there have been times where my Club JO experiences this winter have been a bit challenging. Not all my teammates have the same goals for the team or the personal expectations for themselves. This has given me the opportunity to learn more about leadership, perseverance, and the importance of determination. I now know that as a leader, I need to be supportive of my teammates, but also push them to be the best they can be to accomplish our team goals.
